This candidate will work both independently and collaboratively with other worldwide CAD support team members and also with corporate R&D group to address day-to-day design and design collateral issues. The suitable candidate will have hands on experience in developing Flow and Methodology for analog and mixed signal designs, preferably in back-end, using Cadence tools. In depth knowledge of similar tools other than Cadence will also be favorably considered. Please note that this is not a managerial or general lead position but is a hands-on technical position.
The candidate should have proven experience in handling tool flow issues, collateral issues and similar design problems faced by designers and have experience debugging such issues and offering solutions in real time. The candidate should be proactive in trying out new flows when new versions of tools are released or other design collaterals are released in the context of on-going designs to anticipate and mitigate potential issues proactively. The right candidate is also expected to have directly handled substantial projects containing custom layout and P&R functions. There is also an expectation that the candidate will have a good understanding of semiconductor devices at transistor level. With more emphasis on system solutions from National Semiconductor to its end customers, good knowledge of system-level simulation tools like ADS and physical design packages like Allegro, Altium, etc. will be a great advantage.
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Preferably have a Masters in EEE or equivalent. (Candidates with Undergraduate EEE degree with suitable experience will also be considered).
- Due to the CAD Support function working with multi-location design teams in the Asia Pacific region, the right candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to understand the work cultures across these locations and have a proven ability to network with designers proactively.
- The right candidate is expected to have 5-6 years of experience in CAD tools flow and methodology development/support in an EDA or semiconductor company.
- Proficiency with Cadence and Synopsys design tools.
- Linux proficiency, SKILL programming, Shell scripting, PERL skills are expected.
